Branded Displays for an Outdoor Reveal

Pretty Pretty Backdrops partnered with the event team for the GoPGC Bus Reveal and Launch to deliver a coordinated collection of custom graphic displays, a historical gallery walk, red-carpet features, and a branded stage backdrop in Prince George's County, Maryland.

The project brought together large-format graphics, event draping, and outdoor installation expertise to create a cohesive environment that supported both the event's storytelling and its official reveal.

The Vision

The event called for a visual experience that would celebrate the initiative's history while introducing its next chapter.

A central feature was a Historical Gallery Walk consisting of four large-format displays. Together, the graphics guided guests through the initiative's story, creating opportunities to explore its history and engage with the imagery.

The overall design also included a larger branded graphic wall, a dedicated stage backdrop for the presentation, and red-carpet elements to connect the various event areas.

Rather than treating these as separate installations, Pretty Pretty Backdrops approached the project as a coordinated outdoor experience, with consistent presentation, intentional placement, and a polished finish.

Project Considerations

Outdoor event installations require more planning than displays installed inside a ballroom or conference venue.

The project included multiple freestanding structures: four 8' × 8' Historical Gallery Walk displays, a 10' × 8' graphic wall, and a branded stage feature.

Each installation had to account for outdoor conditions, including wind, uneven surfaces, guest circulation, and the extra stabilization needed for large graphic panels.

The project also evolved during planning. The team reconsidered an earlier concept involving extended outdoor draping because of the potential challenges of wind exposure and changing weather conditions.

Pretty Pretty Backdrops recommended a more practical approach built around individual weighted graphic displays. This preserved the event's visual impact while allowing the installation strategy to address the outdoor environment better.

The accelerated project timeline also required careful coordination of graphic production, equipment preparation, transportation, and installation.

The PPB Solution

Pretty Pretty Backdrops developed an installation plan that brought together several distinct event features.

Historical Gallery Walk

Four custom 8' × 8' vinyl graphic displays formed the Historical Gallery Walk. Each display was mounted on a pipe-and-drape frame with upper and lower crossbars to support the graphic, while black drape finishing concealed the upright hardware.

A 4' × 40' red carpet defined the gallery experience and visually connected the individual displays.

Large Branded Graphic Wall

A separate 10' × 8' custom vinyl display created an additional branded focal point. The structure used weighted supports and coordinated finishes to complement the gallery installation.

Stage Presentation Backdrop

For the presentation area, PPB installed a tension-fabric branded display in front of a larger 12' × 10' black pipe-and-drape backdrop.

The layered configuration created a defined visual setting for the official presentation while providing a professional background for event photography.

Red-Carpet Details

Additional red-carpet and brass-stanchion elements defined the guest entrance and reinforced the event's presentation style.

Across the outdoor installations, PPB planned for supplemental ballast, weighted bases, guy lines, and other stabilization measures appropriate to the structures and site conditions.

The Finished Experience
